Can any one of you tell me What is views and its benefits in Oracle SQL
Views are SQL queries with no physical data, but represent the physical table data in different orientation.
No data is physically stored in database. Named SQL query is stored.
Since half of your question was answered I'll start with the second half of 'benefits of a view'.
There may be many benefits to views such as:
Of course just because one view may be fast another view may be quite slow in returning data so performance issues are listed among the negative aspects of views. Since views are nothing more than stored queries the best you can do to enhance their performance is by using hints or possibly stored outlines.
There are many opinions on database views, so search google.com for more information and opinion.
