String conection error: ora-12541 tns no listener

    Good evening please
    Im new at Oracle anfdi have a couple of questions:

    A new platform is being implemented, i used this tring connection:

    Code (SQL):
    sqlplus64 ABCD/telcom_91@scanrac
    the above question yields error: ORA-12541 TNS no listener

    but if i connect thos way connects suucessfully:

    Code (SQL):
    sqlplus64 ABCD/telcom_91@scanrac:1810/namezyztaf
     
    So i come up with these questions

    1 what is sqlplus64 ? and enhancment of sqlplus ?
    2 what does it mean: @scanrac:1810/namezyztaf ?
    3 in this impememtaion i cant find $ORACLE_HOME nor tnsnames.ora
    4. tnping command is not found. it has something to do with permissions?

    The connection string that works is a JDBC connection string that includes the listener port, SID and server name. Your first attempt requires that a tnsnames.ora file be configured with the proper connection information; google for tnsnames.ora to find examples.
