Hi Guys. I'm cloning a DB out of ASM and into UFS. I end up with a mounted DB .. and all the datafiles and tempfiles and archive logs residing on UFS. However when I try to restore the DB and then open it (using the resetlogs option) it bombs out with the following error: alter database open resetlogs * ERROR at line 1: ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel Process ID: 7814 Session ID: 85 Serial number: 9 When I check the alert log and trace files it's clear that the DB still has it's online redo logs set to an ASM location .. hence the problem. Sure enough when I check v$logfiles .. all the redo log members are on ASM. The db_create_online_log_dest_1,2,3 init.ora parameters have been modified previously to point to a UFS location so I don't know why the DB is attempting to write the new redo to an ASM disk. Any ideas?
