I tried changing price_uom to MTH and validated. No lines were considered for Interfacing. The count is showing '0'.

Then I tried changing all MTH to MO and tried validating. Still the validation report shows '0' under lines. I didnt proceed to import, as the same will be the result as in validation report.

I am trying in Support Instance.

    Regards,
    Jana

    Hi Jana,

Here I have attached the service contracts fields data what to give as mandatory. Please enter the data as mentioned in that excel file and then try to import it. Do this manually by entering all the details in interface tables. Then update whats the result.

    Hi Bharat,
I will post my findings by tomorrow. But tell me one thing. Is billing information mandatory?

    Regards,
    Jana

Billing information means billing contacts or bill to site usage or billing periods?

Yes they are mandatory one. You need to provide that information for contracts.

    Hi Bharat and Jana,
Have you both manage to resolve the line not populating issue?
Could you both help provide some guidance on how can I use this open interfaces?

Should this be the correct way?
    1) Use data loaded to load the information into the interface tables.
    2) Run concurrent program Service Contracts Import (OKSIMPRT).
    3) Contract should be created into oks tables.

Anything else I should be aware?

    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Ronnie

    Hi Ronnie,

Please have a look into the Metalink note 1057242.1 for all the limitations.

May I know can the interface be treated like how API work such as create, update and delete?

    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Ronnie

    Hi Ronnie,

When we see Open Interfaces, it's mostly used with validations too.. and API's doesn't have any validations part, Ofcourse internal validations occur, but not validating the data whether its right or wrong and whether it exists in tables or not like that..

When we see Open Interfaces, we will write validations for most of the fields and then if validation is successful then only we will enter that record to interface tables.

Here Open interfaces places the records to Interface tables. Where as API's, it places the records in base tables. This is the major difference.

    Hi Bharat,
Thanks for the explanation but I just wonder could Interface be something like

    Scenario:
If contract header A and line A is loaded to the table. Means it is creating new contract only?

If I load another contract A with line B will it add new line to apps.okc_k_lines_b ?
or it will replace line A with B ?

    Thanks.

It depends on the API what we use. If we use Insert header and line API then it creates new Service Contracts with the lines how many we provide.

If we use only Line API, then we need to provide the existing Contract Number to add the new line to an existing Contract.

    Hi Bharat,
    Here is my actual requirement.

    Scenario:
Device D1 has types of warranty under contract C1.
Device D2 is a replacement of D1 with the same or different part_number with warranty or without warranty under contract C2.

Using Interface to achieve below scenario:
    1. terminate C2 contract for D2
    2. create copy of D1 contract lines/sub-lines to D2 contract lines/sub-lines.
This copies should be under same C1 contract.
    3. terminate D1 contract lines/sub-lines in C1

I'm trying to perform reverse engineering by using Interface and trying to map out all the column.
Please anyone could share with me how can I map all those column which is required from OKS tables.

    Thanks
