    Why every one using function for calculations? why not procedure? what is main reason?

    That elements have a functional differents at using.
    Note : At any langauge of programming.

    Some examples for Oralce:
    The FUNCTION always returns a value.
    The FUNCTION for SQL can not use DML.

    The PROCEDURE can not be used in SQL.
