We are on version 7.5.2 of Universal Content Management and have set the content ID to be automatically assigned and assigned a prefix. The automatically assigned number is 6 digits in length. Is there any way of increasing the length so we can store more than 999,999 documents in the repository?

    Thanks for your help.

Hi, one of my client's configuration is exactly the same. It doesn't matter that the assigned number is 6 digits. When the last number will be reached , UCM will automatically increment it. For example, if your content ID prefix is say ABC_, then your last content id can be ABC_999999. But when you will check in a new content after this, UCM will automatically increment it to ABC_1000000.

So you have nothing to worry. If you are not satisfied, try it out on a test system. Go to your database and update the counters table and set RevClassID to 999999 and commit. Now check in a new content and you will see that Content ID is in fact ABC_1000000.
