    Hi,

I saw my local hdd increase rapidly. So i check on /u01 and found too many dump file on /u01/app/oracle/product/admin.
In that folder in contain subfolder call +ASM and MISSION. FYI, MISSION is my oracle db sid.

If i delete the file in those folder, what would happen? I saw something is ASM manager refer to /u01/app/oracle/product/admin/+ASM.

Is those file necessary or just dump file that can i delete? Please explain what are kind of file is it.

    Thank you.

p/s: Sorry if post wrong section.

No one can tell you what those files are if you don't post at least locations and file names. Some trace files can be deleted (the database doesn't use them) but they may indicate problems which need to be addressed so deleting them isn't the best of ideas.

Normally Oracle doesn't dump trace files for fun; it's likely9 you have database problems that need to be corrected.

The .aud files are written each time a SYSDBA account accesses the database. The bdump files are process traces and need to be examined to see if they contain normal messages or errors. Files in the udump directories could be process traces on error or could be user-generated trace files such as generated by controlfile backups and events 10046 and 10053. Again you need to READ these files to decide what to do with them.
