    hey interesting theory but both of these queries return nothing for me

    Code (Text):

    select name from v$latch where upper(name) like '%KGB%'

    select "WHERE" from v$latch_misses where parent_name = 'kgb latch'
     
    for both of these I get no rows returned as SYSTEM user. So the guy probably made them up!

    It will , But you have to use Oracle 11i.

    hmmm 11i? u mean 11g right? sorry as u might know i am not a database expert! ;)

    Well if the names does show up, they can be there for a multitude of reasons... may be the original coder was a KGB fan!! :p
