    Hi AAditya,

    what is DISPLAY_ITEM_MGR_NM ? its a variable or field in that block. If it is a field in a block use like below.

    SELECT mgr_name
    INTO :EMPLOYEE_DATA_BLOCK.DISPLAY_ITEM_MGR_NM
    FROM manager_master
    WHERE mgr_id = :EMPLOYEE_DATA_BLOCK.text_id;

    Regards

    Thnx to reply,
    DISPLAY_ITEM_MGR_NM is a display item to show City NAME.Actually I have tried,But I want to fire query automatically when The city_id (text item ) is filled.
    The Query is :-
    Code (SQL):
    SELECT cityname INTO :EMPLOYEE_DATA_BLOCK.DISPLAY_ITEM_MGR_NM WHERE city_id=:EMPLOYEE_DATA_BLOCK.City_ID

    Hi ,

    Try the below Query in When-Validate-Item of City_id .

    Code (SQL):

    IF (:EMPLOYEE_DATA_BLOCK.City_ID IS NOT NULL) THEN
      SELECT cityname INTO :EMPLOYEE_DATA_BLOCK.DISPLAY_ITEM_MGR_NM WHERE city_id=:EMPLOYEE_DATA_BLOCK.City_ID
    END IF;
