Oracle10 new install in Window environment

Discussion in 'Installation - Windows' started by Carl Driskill, Feb 8, 2011.

  1. Hello all. I am new to Oracle, in fact self-training. I downloaded Oracel personal edition and have a folder name OracleXE. The installation instruction I am following say to double click on the Folder and run SETUP.exe. When I double click I get a message that say I need to chooce a program to open with or locate on the internect. Does any know what I should be doing?

You shouldn't need to double-click on the folder, you double-click on the setup.exe entry.

You get that message after double clicking the exe file or the folder? If it's the folder, it looks like there might be a virus on your machine as folders open in windows explorer. If it's the exe file, the file might be missing the .exe extension.
