    I have a set of existing tables that user Oracle authentication to log user activity (insert, update, deletes) in a set of analogous audit tables.

    We are moving toward Active Directory as our rle based security model for applications going forward. Other Oracle apps are still using these tables for now and I do not think we can get rid of the triggers for now. Is there some way to override the triggers so they don't fire so that I can write a record to the audit table with my AD user? Or is there some other way to accomplish this task without removing the trigger?

    I was considering using a set of:

    ALTER TRIGGER MyTrigger DISABLE;
    ALTER TRIGGER MyTrigger ENABLE;

    Allowing me to perform my insert and then manually inserting into the audit table. Any thoughts?

    If you just want to audit the operation on Tables in a schema you can try AUDIT OPTIONS
