    Hi,

Recently, I am searching Oracle database management tools for Windows and Mac OS X.

I tried SQL Developer, Toad & Aqua. SQL Developer supports Mac but seems not good enough for data manipulation. Toad and Aqua is not user friendly. I need to import excel data to Oracle regularly.

Did anyone try Navicat for Oracle (navicat.com) before? Please give me some comments about those tools. I want to choose one in this week. Thanks in advance.

    cheers,

    Kenneth

Toad is not user friendly!!!??? This is a joke right? it takes me a few clicks to import data from excel to oracle using Toad. goto Database-->Import-->Import Source Files

This sounds fishy to me? Are you by any chance employed by Navicat?

Debsis might be right i saying so as Toad may not be good to import the data REGULARLY. But Toad is user friendly tool anyway .

For regular importing of file , you have to automate the process .

The main tools/methods of importing from a CSV ( It is easy to convert EXcel to csv) are,

    Sqlloader

    External tables

Both are Oracle's way of doing it. They are not third party tools/methods.

    Not so fast Supermen.............

Earlier versions of TOAD prior to 9 importing an EXCEL file into an ORACLE table
was a peace of cake. Versions 9.7 and above don't offer the same EXCEL option in the drop down....

You can check and ask rolta for it, as they provide oracle services so they might explain you how to download the software for daily use.
