You do not provide enough information to answer your question. Is this on one server using VMWare or some similar virtual environment? Is this Windows, Linux, Unix? You do know that google is your friend; it was easy for me to find this page using google.com:

    http://www.webnms.com/simulator/help/sim_network/netsim_conf_virtual_ip.html

Did you try using google to find such information?

From the following MOS DOC ID: 1313504.1

    verified the following:
    # gcc -v
    Using built-in specs.

    Any Suggestions.

Vip interface is created during installation. Need to specify settings in file /etc/hosts
    example:
    10.0.2.1 cn1-vip
    10.0.2.2 cn2-vip
    192.168.2.1 cn1-priv
    192.168.2.2 cn2-priv
    10.0.2.10 cn1-node1
    10.0.2.20 cn2-node2

Are you sure that these are the IP's that I need to set in my /etc/hosts files? or you have just mentioned these IP's as an example?
