    Error starting Database Control
Refer to the log file c:\..........\emConfig.log for more details

You can retry configuring this database with Enterprise Manager by manually runnning C:\............\emca script.

I think the database works fine but there is no HR,OE,etc so i tried to create manually create the schemas also but there is hr_main.sql file and i downloaded it and again tried to manually create the schema but it failed
Can anyone help me?????????? Its a bit urgent

This is a cleanup issue. Was this your first installation attempt?

Deinstalling and reinstalling should fix it. Refer to Oracle Guide here for instructions to deinstall

Well not really. I don't have the schema installed and your issue occurred because you did not uninstall as per instructions. If you have time you should go through the documentation I linked you to and learn the proper uninstallation procedure to get back a clean system.

The companion cd is now called "Oracle Database 11g Examples Release 1". Go to oracle's download page and click the "See All" beside the Database version and OS version you have. Then download the examples release zip file.

but there was no clear step defined for OE
as a new step for oe was displayed which is:

specify directory path for the data files as parameter 6:
    Enter value for 6:

You should enter the path to the directory where you want it to create the data files for this new tablespace. You can do a select * from dba_data_files to see the details of other datafiles.

    Code (SQL):
    SQL> SELECT file_name FROM dba_data_files;

    FILE_NAME
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    C:\ORACLEXE\ORADATA\XE\USERS.DBF
    C:\ORACLEXE\ORADATA\XE\SYSAUX.DBF
    C:\ORACLEXE\ORADATA\XE\UNDO.DBF
    C:\ORACLEXE\ORADATA\XE\SYSTEM.DBF
    C:\ORACLEXE\ORADATA\XE\INDX.DBF

    SQL>
You should be able to see where the other datafiles are located and provide the same location to the script.
