    Ladies and gentlemen,

I am newbie to Oracle BI. I installed Oracle 10g DB and OBIEE 10G on my Pc to do some practice using OBE. I am stuck trying to establish the Connection pool. First, I received the ORA-12541 error message - No listener. I then tried to start up the listener using the cmd prompt. Then came this response:

    LSNRCTL> start
    Starting tnslsnr: please wait...

    TNS-12560: TNS: protocol adapter error
    TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error

Can someone help? What should I do to fix this ?

Without any details on which operating system you're running Oracle on the best information I can give you is to run the Net Configuration Assistant to configure your listener. Please read here:

    for UNIX/Linux and here:

    for Windows.
