    I have Oracle 10g on windows system
    I have error:
    SQL> startup mount;
    ORACLE instance started.

    Total System Global Area 293601280 bytes
    Fixed Size 788908 bytes
    Variable Size 154138196 bytes
    Database Buffers 138412032 bytes
    Redo Buffers 262144 bytes
    Database mounted.
    SQL> alter database convert to physical standby;
    alter database convert to physical standby
    *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended

    This is a logical standby you're trying to convert? This IS using Oracle 10.2, not Oracle 10.1? The convert to physical standby clause is only available from 10.2.0.x onwards. You need to post all of the relevant information about this database before anyone can give you a usable answer.
