    Hi all,

Any recommendation on the size of table to apply partition? Any side effect if table size is small?

    thanks

Re: Partitioning a Table in Oracle

well oracle can suppport huge non-partitioned tables pretty well, however at what size to partition is dependent on various factors and not just the size or number of columns in your table. Usually for well written applications partitioning would only be required at sizes in excess of 20GB or so... but that varies.

Regarding partitioning small sized tables, why would you want to do so?

Re: Partitioning a Table in Oracle

    thanks tyro,

I'm very new to Oracle. I found a small size of table [~ few hundred M] being partitioned in our site and the partition value doesn't make sense to improve preformance. That's why I check if any reverse impact on this table.
