    Can anyone throw me some light on materialized views too.?

    A materialized view or snapshot are majorly used for replication purpose and contains the results of a query of one or more tables. Table may be located on the same or on a remote database server. Basically it is a result of a query stored in a table.
    Data in materialized view will not get refreshed automatically but needs to be refreshed manually using DBMS_JOB

    Actually there is another mechanism to refresh the Materialized view ON Commit (not by calling DBMS_JOB package ..Materialized view On Commit
