    Hi,

If you meant Interface in Oracle Application - then at a high level we can say it is process/method/communication channel that is used to transfer data in and out of Oracle System. i.e from legacy systems <-> Oracle (or from smaller instance <--> higher instance of Oracle in case of upgrade projects).

Usually can be divided into 2 types namely Inbound and Outbound.

In Inbound Interface, data is transfered/loaded into Oracle from legacy systems/flat files etc.

Generally data is imported into Oracle from a flat file by either using APIs or via Interface tables and then standard Import Programs.

Here custom tables are used to simply to import the data from flat file. And then data can be loaded directly into Oracle Base Tables via APIs or they are transfered to Oracle Interface tables and then using standard import programs loaded into Oracle Base Tables.

    Regards,

    Hi,

Interface is the process of transferring the data from one system to another system.

In oracle apps if you want to load the data into application then we need to use inbound interface.

Flat file consists data. it may be .txt ot .csv or .sql.
temp table is a staging table which we created to load the flat file data.
interface table is a oracle standard interface table by using package we will load our temp table data into that interface tables.

Then we need to run the standard interface program to load the data from interface table to oracle standard base tables.
