Hi ,I am new to Oracle forms. What I need to do is insert data(2 fields:user id and age) into a table from the form when I press the submit button.
I am using Oracle forms 6i and connected to a oracle 10g database.

It sounds like you're coding your own Insert routine, so....create a package on the database w/ a procedure to do exactly that...then call it from the Submit routine. However, I question why you'd go around the standard Forms philosophy and not allow the Form to handle the transaction itself. If the form has a block based on the table it should handle all of that w/o you needing to code the routine yourself.

    Hi Dev,

Is it Database block or Non-Database block?
If Database block: U don't have 2 do anything externally. Oracle Apps Standards will handle it automatically and post everything in the block to the database.

If Non-Database block: Use a PL/SQL block to define the ON-COMMIT trigger to post the block data in respective tables.
