    How do I configure UCM to use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Type 4 JDBC Driver

    Hi Folks,

    We are upgrading our SQL Server from 2000 to 2005 and I want to point our UCM 7.5.1 server from the existing 2000 SQL server to the new 2005 SQL server. I have followed Oracle support's document (558490.1 found on Metalink) on how to make the change and these are the steps that I have followed:

    1. Stop the Content Server process or service.
    2. Download from Microsoft, the Unix version of the JDBC driver (regardless of your host operating system).
    3. Extract the sqljdbc.jar from the driver's compressed tar bundle
    4. Copy the sqljdbc.jar to the <ucm_root>/shared/classes
    5. Add the driver to the Content Server's CLASSPATH:

    <ucm_root>/bin/intradoc.cfg or <ucm_stub_root>/bin/intradoc.cfg

    Example:
    CLASSPATH=$COMPUTEDCLASSPATH;D:/apps/ucm10g/shared/classes/sqljdbc.jar

    6. Reconfigure the <ucm_root>/config/config.cfg

    JdbcDriver=com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    JdbcConnectionString=jdbc:sqlserver://<SQL DB DNS or IP>:<SQL DB TCP Port>;DatabaseName=<Your DB Name>

    Example:
    JdbcDriver=com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    JdbcConnectionString=jdbc:sqlserver://192.168.1.100:1433;DatabaseName=ucm10gdb

    7. Start the Content Server process or service.

    This is where the problem starts as the content server does not start and gives the following error:

    IdcAdmin: Event generated by user 'sysadmin' at host 'dev.innospecinc.net'. Unable to alter the process. Unable to execute action 'start' on Content Server 'octdevidcm1'. Please check the error logs for a full description of the error. [ Details ]
    An error has occurred. The stack trace below shows more information. !$IdcAdmin: !csUserEventMessage,sysadmin,dev.innospecinc.net!$!csAdminUnableToAlterProcess!csAdminUnableToExecAction,start,octdevidcm1 intradoc.common.ServiceException: !csAdminUnableToAlterProcess!csAdminUnableToExecAction,start,octdevidcm1 at intradoc.server.Service.buildServiceException(Unknown Source) at intradoc.server.Service.createServiceExceptionEx(Unknown Source) at intradoc.server.Service.createServiceException(Unknown Source) at intradoc.admin.AdminService.alterProcess(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:324) at intradoc.server.Service.doCodeEx(Unknown Source) at intradoc.server.Service.doCode(Unknown Source) at intradoc.server.Service.doAction(Unknown Source) at intradoc.server.Service.doActions(Unknown Source) at intradoc.admin.AdminService.doActions(Unknown Source) at intradoc.server.Service.doRequest(Unknown Source) at intradoc.server.ServiceManager.processCommand(Unknown Source) at intradoc.server.IdcServerThread.run(Unknown Source)

    Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
