    Hi all ,

Can anyone help in customizing the workflow ? Below is the scenario (client requiremet):

    1. I have created two steps in a workflow, One is "HOD" and the
    other one is "CC".

    2. The content item has been approved and passes the STEP 1: HOD
and reaches the STEP 2: CC.

    3. In step 2 above, reviewers feel that the conent item needs to
reviewed by a different user "CEO" before finally releasing the
    document.

How can I customize an action "SEND IT TO CEO" other than "APPROVE"
OR "REJECT" on the web page so that, Step 2 user, can send it CEO.

    4. CEO can finally approve the document for publishing.

    5. IF CEO verification condition is not required at STEP 2, CC user
can directly approve the document as usual for publishing.

can anyone help me at point no #3, to include a custom action so
that STEP 2 user (CC) can send it to CEO approval if required.

How to add a condition (custom action) in a workflow
AND How to create custom action popups ???
note : i dont want to create metadata filed for ceo approval and should not display in standard check in content page.

Please help !! Its something urgent !! with a detail description required

any help would ne greatly appriciated !!!!
    Regards,

    hi yaznesh, very interesting.

You can try among these lines

    1. Make a 3 Step workflow with CEO being at step 3.

    2. When you are defining your Step 2 user make sure you select "Users can edit...", that is let your step 2 user check out the content.

    3. So if your user at step 2 decides to send it to CEO, he has to check out the content and check-in. Here you need to write a custom rule whose activation condition should be that if the document is in workflow at step 2 (try idoc function wfCurrentStep). So if this rule is satisfied, a new metadata field should be displayed, sendtoCEO (yes/no).

    4. If this field is no, define an additional exit condition in your criteria workflow (for value NO), else if it is YES, it will go to step 3.

    Try it out!!!

    hi ,

    Thanks for ur response.

As per our requirement, we should not use metadata fileds and checkout the contents.

we have to approch through idocscript logic, or else better option is Custom action popup (for SEND TO CEO).

can u give me any idea about ?? how to create action popups in content server ??

    please do needful

    Regards

why do u not want to checkout for the SEND TO CEO decision by your approver in step2? That is a standard way people use UCM workflows.

If you want custom action popup you will have to write custom javascript. I haven't done this but you will need to write a custom component which identifies your workflow stage and contains a resource file which contains Javascript to be triggered on a custom action. This will become a major customization and would require at least couple of weeks dedicated effort.

I suggest you find a workaround
