How can I check in custom matadata fields added from source code??

    Hi all,
    In the source code of Standard Check In page,I have added some fields manually???But after running,these fields are there on the profile,but they are not getting check in??Please suggest what to do??

    I think you are going about this the wrong way. You add new metadata fields using the Configuration Manager (in Administration->Admin Applets), and that should add the fields to all of the fields that need them.

    It means that we cant add any matadata field manually from source code???

    Metadata fields are added to tables in the database. You need to use the Configuration Manager to help you define these fields.

    Why do you think you need to add metadata fields from the source code?

    Also, if you are adding idocScript code, you should be doing it through custom components. You should never edit the standard page files because any updates you get will overwrite your changes.

    Actually I want to display the rule dynamically means I want to change the matadata fields on check in page depending on some value of option list..But our standard check in page never gets refreshed as its a template..then how can I do this??

    You still need to define your custom metadata fields in the database.

    You can write code to show/hide/disable the fields on the checkin page, but you should do it through a component.
