    Hi asim,
seems it is the Compatibility issue.
just try bellow steps before installing oracle:1st right click on setup.exe of oracle, select the checkbox on Compatibility field and also privilege field.

still pls notice that your oracle is in 32-bit while your system is in 32-bit.

    hope this may help.

Open a CMD window, cd to the installation directory where the SETUP file is...

    Then try :

    setup -ignoresysprereqs

    See if that works.

It probably won't as he's likely installing 10.2.0.1 which is not supported on Windows 7; Windows 7 requires the 10.2.0.3 patch (which is a full installation for the Windows platform) only available for download with a valid Oracle support license. Once installed it still cannot be run -- the 10.2.0.5 patchset must be installed before the database will be usable. Since I suspect he does not have a valid Oracle support agreement in force he will need to download the 11.2.0.1 software from www.oracle.com and install that on windows 7.

I figured the support angle was a given....however, 'sometimes' using that specific switch on the command line can give you clues as to what the problem may be as the screen doesn't just vanish w/o displaying something.

The 'product' may run just fine in that environment...I have found the problem is usually the installer rather than the product itself.

I didn't say it could not be installed -- please read the post again as the requred software for Windows 7 is no longer available for download from www.oracle.com. Since it now requires a valid Oracle support identifier (which I suspect asim does NOT possess) he does not have much of a choice in downloadable versions of Oracle to install.

It helps to read posts completely.

zargon, sorry i got wrong understanding...

so for asim, there are 3ways to solve this issue.
    option1 , change oracle 10.2.0 to oracle 11.2.0
option2 , do some changes on win7 server that can be compatible with win7 server (i tried and made it before)
option3 , as asim said, he had re-installed OS (32-bit)..but seems he met some new problems

please correct me if i am wrong
