    Hello every one
    I work as client on a software that use oracle server.
    My understanding on SQL and ORACLE is almost zero.
    but I have a problem that i didn't get an answer from my system administrator so I tray to find the answer my self (I hope),
    Every now and then, I disconnect from the server and get the message:

    Working (-)System.InvalidOperationException: The connection has been disabled.
    ---> System.Data.Odbc.OdbcException: ERROR [08S01]
    [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-03113: סוף-קובץ בערוץ תקשורת (Translation--- [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-03113: End of communication file)
    זיהוי תהליך: 7588 (Translation--- 7588: process identification)
    זיהוי : מספר סידורי של זיהוי: 9 (Translation--- 9: serial num. of identification : session identification)

    (the complete message is in the attached file)

    I connect to the server on a very stable and fast communication through SSL protocol
    (the server place in different location.)

    Now, the question::confused::confused::confused:
    first, why does it happend?
    second, is there a way to reconnect the communication to the server? by writing a command or something?

    thanks to all the helpers

    There could be several reasons why that session disconnected: security settings on the database server that disconnect 'idle' O/S sessions after, say, 15 minutes, SQL*Net timeout settings may be declaring your session as 'dead' (inactive for a period of time) and disconnecting it, a network 'glitch' that has disconnected your session unexpectedly. You can't simply restore the connection you just lost, although you can issue a reconnect to establish a new connection depending on whether you're directly connected to the database through SQL*Plus or using a java or Perl app to connect.

    You need to provide more information to get a specific answer.

    first thanks for the reply,
    second, something very odd happened to me today,
    I was connected to the server, suddenly the connection was broken.
    I regain connection and could save my work like nothing happened, could it be?

    again Thanks a lot

    This sounds like a network issue and not an Oracle problem. Apparently the connection was not lost long enougn to actually drop the session in the database.

    I would think you should contact the network team and have this examined.
