Display XML output format Default as Excel

    Hi guys,

    I am working on a xml report. I need to display my report o/p in excell format.

    If I am selecting option as excell from SRS window , then output is displaying in excell.
    but the option default value is PDF.

    I need to set default option value as Excell instead of PDF. Anyone have any idea about this.

    Please share your ideas if have any??

    yes u can set the default report output to excel.

    Goto XML Publisher Administrator-->Templates

    A JSP search Page should open, Give the name of the report and click on search. Now click on the report name and click Update. Here you will see a Default Output Type LOV. Change it to Excel and click on Apply.

    Now the default output will be in excel!

    No . it is not correct.
    If we are giving Excell it w'nt get save in the system. if we are requery the same we can understand it.

    let me know if anybody get the solution.

    Hi ranjith i don't know why it's not saving in your system because it works for me and this is the right way.

    As per my understanding Default Output Type cannot be changed once saved (atleast that is how it is working in 11.5.10.2). Not sure if that works in any other release. You may change other values.

    The workaround is to create a new one for the report with Default Output Type as Excel (don't forget to change the default value PDF before saving).
