    Hi all,

    How to create a global value in oracle apps and make it accessible to end user. I have to use this value i various fast formulas. so i want the value to be dynamic and end user should be able to enter.

    I will explain my requirement clearly.

    I want to create a global value " global value service years". I have a formula that has the flowing code
    --- inside the formula
    if service_years < 12
    then
    ..........................
    ..........................
    some logic

    end if;

    Now my requirement is i wll make the above code as shown below

    if service_years < global value service years
    then

    .............. logic.........

    end if;

    Can i give access to end user to enter teh value forth global varibale at runtime. If th HR want to cahnge teh service years to 6. How and where cani do that

    hi vamsi you should read the users manual a little :)

    what you are asking for is done through the Define Globals form in your HRMS Manager responsibility. Look it up...

    So,

    I create a global value service_years in hrms--> total compensation.

    and in my formula i change teh condtion to

    if l_years_of_service < service_years then....

    i ask the enduser to change teh value of global value when ever required

    Is this correct syntax and method to use global values
