create an authentication scheme with a single username and password

    Could anyone give me any pointers on how to create an authentication scheme with just one username and password for all users please

    I am very new to all this by the way so you can talk to me as if i am stupid

    A single account for all is not a good design. Why have everyone use the same account? I don't see any real purpose for that. Normally a database is configured with a unique login for each user, then the grants are given to access other objects in the database, say those of an application user.
