    Dear All,

    I have a scenario here.

In SSHR --> Absence Management --> Create absence

    I am applying a leave.

    From : 21-Jan-2013
    to : 22-Jan-2013

when i pressed calculate duration based on Fast formula it is giving
    absence days as '2'.

Now i am changing the absence days to '6' manually. System is allowing this scenario with just warning message instead of error.
can any one give justification why oracle allows this scenario.
if i want to stop this how to proceed.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Siva Ram

Changing manually means, are you updating any table from backend?

    Hi Siva Ram,
This is an intended behavior in R12 that you can change number of days. This is provide for below scenario.

User can book two weeks leave from 01-OCT-2013 to 15-OCT-2013 which includes weekends also. To avoid weekends user can change the days duration as mentioned above. It is a line manager responsibility to check this before approving.

Also there are many notes in metal ink to take the leaves as per the work pattern set in your system.
Let me check if any metalink note is available to this case.

    Regards,
    Subbu.

    Hi,

You can raise SR if dont find any anything in metalink.

    or

You can customize self service form to avoid this error.

    Hi Siva,

You can stop updating the absence days using user hook.
