Is there no way to configure this board to detect and lock out these 'bot accounts that are repeatedly posting garbage to the forums? It has really become annoying recently.

    Hi,

    As I guess
Admin and other staff members has authority to block them.

I too felt bored with those posts.

Admins can only do so much. When I find them I delete them as spam and ban the user account that posted them, but the bots generate NEW accounts to post the same nonsense so they get through, and they get through on various IP addresses so the ban isn't effective.

Again, when I find them I treat them as SPAM and process accordingly.

I did a thorough clean up yesterday. The best thing to do if you see a bot post is to click on the "Report" link as it brings them to my attention and I can delete right away.

If that's the desired process, I can do that. Mind you -- I'll only report one for each 'bot'. The same accounts were creating dozens of related garbage posts.

Yes that is fine. Once the spam cleaner identifies a spammer account it can delete all the posts made from that account.
