    Hi Manik,

If you don't want to do it from master items setup then you can do it from organization items setup option but here you are able to set that only for particular organization only. If you want to do it for multiple organizations you need to change the organization and do it as you needed.

    Manik,

I will send the steps shortly. Meantime give it a go. Its not too difficult. Here is a tip. As Bharat says do it on an Org Item. But make sure that Item has all the attributes needed first. Then its a matter of just blindly setting up.
    cheers

    Dear Manik,

Never try anything in Production. Always do it in the development instance , validate, get signoff from the stakeholders and then replicate in Production.

    Prudence can save your job!

    Manik darling,

    Here you go......
    Defining Stock Locators
Use locators to identify physical areas where you store inventory items. Locators may
represent rows, aisles, or bins in warehouses. You can track item quantities by locator and
transact items into and out of locators. You can restrict the life of locators as well as define
    locator dimensions.
There are many different types of locators. Locators are segregated by their different uses.
Locators are used as packing stations, dock doors, receiving locations, storage locators, consolidation locators, staging lanes, and inspection stations.
In this example, you will create a storage locator for a finished goods subinventory.
    Steps
1.Begin by navigating to the Stock Locators page.
    Click the vertical scrollbar.
    2. Click the Inventory link.
    Click the vertical scrollbar.
    3. Click the Setup: Stock Locators link.
    4. Use the Find Locators page to find existing locators and start the process to create
    new locators.
5.Click the New Button or use (Alt +N)
    6. You use the Stock Locators page to define new locators. You enter the row, rack, and
bin information for the locator as well as the locator type, material status, and subinventory with which the locator is associated Page.
    7. Click in the Locator field.
    8. You cannot use the same locator names within any two subinventories within the same
    organization.
    9. Enter the desired information into the Locator field. Enter "M.1.1".
    10. click the type list
    11. Locator Types determine how the locators are used in your Organization
    12. Click the Storage Locator list item.
    13. The Status is the material status for this locator. Material status controls the enabled
transactions for all material that resides inside the locator.
    14. Click in the Status field.
    15. Enter the desired status say Active
    16.Click the sub inventory field
    17. Enter the Desired Subinventory
    18. Click Save and Finish the Procedure.

I will post more so you have a good idea of the process. It will be later.
    cheers
    Ramji
