asm disk uuid

    hi everyone

    i installed oracle 10g on Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 64bit . unfortunately didnt define multipath on it. how can i list asm disk uuid on it? we want to transfer database to new EVA (Eva6000) and need to UUID of asm disks. thanks in advance

    I believe you need the UDID, not the UUID, and that information is available in the V$ASM_DISK view. You can get that information with this query:

    Code (SQL):
    SELECT disk_number, name, udid, path
    FROM v$asm_disk
    ORDER BY 1
     
    You may not need all of that information but I thought that it might be useful when moving disks.

    You can log into the ASM instance using / as sysdba.

    scsi_id -g -s /block/sdu for example

    ;)

    Thank you for the update but I expect the output from that command provided the same id value as the query I supplied.

    It doesn't matter how you get the information, just that you get the correct information.
