    Hi,

I have to define a new process for our UCM application.

The process is the following :

    - The user creates a new file (for example with Word). By using the DIS, it saves it in the UCM.
    - The only file format that we want to have in the UCM is the PDF format.
    - So, when the document is inserted in the UCM, it is automatically converted in PDF.

So, to realize that, I think to an architecture using :

    - The DIS, of course
    - The Inbound Refinery
    - The PDF Convertor.

As the server operating system is UNIX, I can only use, if I correctly understood, OpenOffice for the PDF convertor.

My question is to know if it is the good approach to realize this functionnality.
If anyone already has the occasion to implement this kind of concept, please can you share your experience with me ?

    Any help is welcome

    Regards

    Pierre
