    Toad error - Can't initialize OCI. Error-1

    I have installed 10g client 10.2.0.1.0 adn Toad 9.7.2 on a PC that has Vista installed and trying to connect to TOAD and receiving this error.

    It is pointing to my default home, but this machine also has another home
    OraClient10g_home2 (defaults to this)
    OraClent10g_home1 does not appear in the TOAD dropdown.

    Please assist on how to connect to TOAD

    Well...

    Do you have Oracle database server installed? or are you trying to connect to a remote database server?

    If you are using TOAD's latest version you don't really need tot go through your Oracle Home / tnsnames. Use the tab direct on the left side. Enter your Database server IP, port and SID and it will connect you directly. No need to confuse with Oracle Homes.
