    hey interesting theory but both of these queries return nothing for me

    Code :
    select name from v$latch where upper(name) like '%KGB%'

    select "WHERE" from v$latch_misses where parent_name = 'kgb latch'

    for both of these I get no rows returned as SYSTEM user. So the guy probably made them up!

    It will , But you have to use Oracle 11i.

    And now, more evidence has showed up that even in the latest versions (11.1.0.7) Oracle just reuses code originally written by the Soviet intelligence agency decades ago:

    hmmm 11i? u mean 11g right? sorry as u might know i am not a database expert!

    Well if the names does show up, they can be there for a multitude of reasons... may be the original coder was a KGB fan!! :P
