Purge and Delete Obsolete Information of the EBS R12.1

Someone of you could tell me what are the processes of deleting and purging of obsolete information that must run on the EBS R12.1

Hi Tom, what do you mean my "obsolete information"? Can you be more specific?

Do you mean old concurrent request logs? Because historic transaction data is always relevant. And Moreover accounting principles dictate that a certain number of years data be kept in the live system and older than that archived. Generally in my experience, Database systems are backed up to archive old data.

Well the "obsolete information" is about logs, estadistics, etc.

For example.- And any documentation i found is necesary run the concurrent "Delete Data from Temporary Tables" but in my version (12.1) not found this concurrent.

I dont now if is necessary run the next concurrents:

Purge Concurrent Request and/or Manager Data
Purge Signon Audit Data
Purge Obsolete Workflow Runtime Data
Purge Obsolete Generic File Manager
Purge Debug Log
Purge Messages
Run estadistics

If you can help me and what are the necessary procees for obtain a better performance of my instance, would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Tom,

Whether or not you decide to Purge any of the above mentioned data is a matter of business policy. You can run all the requests that you mention and they will purge the data which they are meant to. It will not affect your day to day business transactions. However companies like to keep old Concurrent Request Data and Signon data for auditing purposes. Like I said, it's a matter of business policies and from a purely technical standpoint you can delete use all of these requests to free up whatever database space they are occupying.

Hi Sadik;

Thanks of your comments, this is my firts six months with the system and need more experience.

In the last two months the system is slower, what is necessary for have better performance in the system for run the concurrents, because the users reportiing to me when run the accounting of the modules of AP and AR each concurrent takes one hour or more for company and we have 8 companies.

If you have any recommendations would be helpful to me
