How to use the Club-Oracle.com website
How to use the Club-Oracle Website
Ok I have seen lots of people coming to the site and getting lost! They can't seem to find the proper way to ask questions, reply or post etc. I have had people using the PM (Private Messaging) feature to ask questions, profile vistor messages to comment etc etc. So I finally thought I will write a Basic HOW-TO for everyone.
1. Asking a Question?
If you want to ask a question or help for a problem you are facing, Please use the Oracle Queries and Discussions section of the website. Go to Queries and Discussions and find the proper category to which your problem belongs to and post in that category. To Post you will have to click on the "New Topic" Icon. (shown below) which appears on the Top and Bottom of every page.

1. Give a descriptive title and describe your problem in detail.
2. We are not an official Oracle site.
Remember if you are lazy to describe your problem in detail, chances are people who read won't understand / bother.
2. Do not Post your Question in the Article Section.
3. Do not post your question as a comment to an article.
4. Use [CODE] [ /CODE ] Tags or [Highlight="sql"] [ /highlight ] Tags when posting Code. You can click on the "#" symbol to automatically insert the CODE tag or SQL symbol to automatically highlight SQL Code when inserting the code.
We are not an official Oracle site or affiliated with oracle in any way. We are just a group of oracle professionals who share their expertise and knowledge. We don't ask for money for support / help so Don't be RUDE, don't expect that it's the members duty to reply.
Also if someone tried to help you, try to help out others too. Don't just come to ask questions and never bother to read other people's questions.
Click on the Buttom "Thanks" if someone's post is helpful to you. It shows your token of appreciation.
3. Submit an Article
The article section is a knowledge base. Contribute to Oracle Article section, if you have something to share. Do not submit articles in the Queries and Discussions section. Do not copy article from other people's websites/blogs.
While submitting article use the "New Page" Button to Break your article into pages. The title you give for the pages will appear in the "Table of Contents" to the top of the article.
4. Update your Profile.
The My Settings section provides lots of features like Avatar, profile image, Signature, your yahoo, msn details etc. Use these features for your own benefit. Please select an avatar after registering as it gives a personal touch to your posts.
5. Check out our Member Rewards.
And Finally, the soul of the site are our members. We reward our members with small gifts of appreciation through Amazon.com or shopperstop.com (if you are in India) and Badges once they cross certain thresholds. If you stick with us long enough, you can have these gifts too. More rewards and competitions are in the pipeline which will come out soon.
And if you have suggestions, criticisms, appreciation
Please use the Suggestions and Requests section.
